ARMED FORCES COMMUNITY

OUR PROUD WORK

Welcome to our Community Projects page, where we proudly support Armed Forces veterans and collaborate with valued partners to make a positive impact in our community.

This year, we launched our Mindfulness Champions programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, reaching numerous organisations that support veterans, including Red Rose Recovery, Burnley FC, Healthier Heroes, Active Lancashire, The Mailing Room, HMP Wymott, and Burnley, Pendle, and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service.

We have also organised wellbeing walks, led by Pete, our Armed Forces veteran guide. Unfortunately, most of our services, including these walks, are self-funded, so we rely on funding and donations to continue our vital work.

Our Mind & Body PT initiative, funded by Sport England alongside Active Lancashire, provided a programme that included employable skills such as Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 2 Gym Instructor, and Mental Health First Aid. Notably, Billy, one of the students, has now been employed by Burnley FC, where his role is to assist with the health and wellbeing of veterans, including those on the Veterans Football Team.

We support Healthier Heroes CIC by offering free qualifications and fitness sessions to veterans. Recently, we organised a football competition at HMP Wymott, where staff and prisoners competed in aid of Healthier Heroes. Additionally, we participated in the National 3 Peaks Challenge to support Depher CIC who support the Armed Forces Community.

The end of last year we received an award from Healthier Heroes for our work with the Armed Forces veterans community outlining our contribution and bringing a sense of pride to the Inner Peak Wellbeing Family.

For more details about our initiatives, please check out our socials on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. As we look ahead, we are excited to form new partnerships and secure additional funding to continue our essential work in the North West region.
